A simple way to get more help in the kitchen: have a meal plan that looks like this!
Monday: Crockpot Chicken & Quinoa
Tuesday: Sweet Potato Black Bean Quinoa Salad
Wednesday: Vegan Mexican Quinoa Salad
Thursday: Crispy Quinoa Vegetable Bake
While I didn’t plan this week’s meals as payback for being the only meal planner in the house, B saw the list and said, “Wow, I am really going to have to start helping!” He is such a meat & potatoes person that anything adventurous (quinoa & veggies = adventurous) makes him a little wary. In his defense, though, he does try most of what I make (with the exception of the Sweet Potato Black Bean Quinoa Salad), and generally admits that they are “not bad,” which I choose to take as a veiled compliment.
Maybe, like the babies, I just have to keep reintroducing these foods to him until they are not strange anymore and then he’ll be as big a fan as I am (ha). Quinoa is already starting to grow on him…either that, or he’s just resigned to the fact that it’s a staple in the house! This was an unusually heavy quinoa week, but I just find it such an easy go-to, especially since I am not a heavy meat-eater. And since I am the only one who does the planning and the cooking, that means I have free reign over all meals! At least, in my mind it does, mwahaha…
