Overall, this week has been pretty good. Audrey seems to have gotten over her teething phase (at least the unbearable part of it, anyway) and is just being so silly and chatty. Her new favorite activity is being chased all throughout the house; the catch is that you cannot catch her on two feet, you have to get down on your hands and knees to do it! She just laughs and laughs and laughs. Hearing her laugh so hard is the best sound in the entire world. I know every mommy says things like that, but it’s so true. It’s amazing how you don’t truly understand these mommy cliches until you have your own baby.
The weather has been GORGEOUS these last few days. I’m sure the fact that we can actually go outside and enjoy summer has helped all of our moods this week. Today I was even able to HAVE A HAIR APPOINTMENT. It was so nice and much needed. I hadn’t gotten my hair cut/trimmed since May (the day before we left Montana!) but finally had time to go to the Aveda salon near us. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Aveda salons and products and will never stray.
Tomorrow we are heading into DC for the day. Audrey’s planning on meeting President Obama (aka we are seeing the White House) and telling him that he actually needs to follow through on his “Year of the Military Family” promises instead of screwing officers’ wives out of scholarship money and an actual spousal preference program that MEANS something.
(And THAT is as political as I will get on this blog.)
